UPDATE: 2009 LCME Accreditation Site Survey

Good news! We have just received notice that the undergraduate MD program has received continued accreditation  for an eight-year term,  the maximum term permitted. This is very encouraging and I’m deeply grateful to the scores of  people who did the hard work reflected in  this outcome.
The accreditation committees did identify issues requiring our ongoing attention, some of them related to our rapid growth, so there will be a Secretariat visit in the spring of 2011 to monitor our progress in addressing those issues.
(See the complete letter for details.) While there is always more to do, I encourage everyone involved in the planning and delivery of the MD program to pause just long enough to enjoy this – congratulations, and thanks!
