He is actively involved in numerous committees at all levels, including Chair of the Curriculum Committee for the MD Program, and was recently appointed as Chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee of Council (TLCC). He leads many workshops throughout the year, publishes in a number of areas of medical education such as teaching development and Interprofessional education, has research interests in a variety of ﬁelds including program evaluation and evaluation and academic content management, and has a national reputation from his many years of serving on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Association for Medical Education. In September of 2008 Marcel was presented with the Excellence in Teaching Award for the College. Marcel lives at home with his wife and one of three sons (his daughter travels the world and visits regularly) and rides his hybrid bike to work every day – even through the winter. Marcel volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, Real Choices Crisis Pregnancy Centre, and his church community besides training vigorously for sprinting events with Riversdale Athletics.
