1. Review the scientific evidence addressing the physical and therapeutic
benefits associated with the act of singing.
2. Describe a pilot program at the Saskatoon Field House for assessing
outcomes of therapeutic singing for COPD.

Donna Goodridge, RN, PhD is Professor in the College of Nursing.
Jennifer Nicol, MTA, RDPsych, PhD is Associate Professor in the College of
Education, and an Accredited Music Therapist and Registered Doctoral
Psychologist.
Ruth Eliason, MTA, BMT is an Accredited Music Therapist in the Saskatoon
Health Region.
