TERMS OF REFERENCE
Budget Planning and Priorities Committee
Objectives
To advise, consult and coordinate between Departments on all budgetary matters with respect to operational affairs of the Division. To provide consultation and oversight over the Division’s contribution to Undergraduate Medical Education, the MPT program, and teaching to other Colleges and units of the University.
Composition
Dean, College of Medicine
Associate Dean, Biomedical Sciences
Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Education
Departmental Representatives
· Anatomy and Cell Biology
· Biochemistry
· Microbiology and Immunology
· Pharmacology
· Physiology
Appointment/Term of Office
1. Membership by virtue of administrative position or appointment by Department Heads.
2. The chairperson of the Budget Planning and Priorities Committee shall be the Associate Dean, Biomedical Sciences.
3. Term of office for Departmental Representatives is determined by the respective Department Heads.
Duties
1. To identify needs, problems and solutions related to the affairs of the Division and related to teaching in Undergraduate Medical, MPT or other curricula
2. To oversee the budget and make recommendation to the Executive Committee on resource allocation within the Division.
3. To advise the Executive Committee on allocation of Faculty position, support positions to the Departments of the Division
Meetings
The Budget Planning and Priorites Committee shall meet once every month and otherwise as needed.
Quorum
Minutes
1. Minutes of all meetings shall be recorded and kept on file in the Dean’s Office.
2. The minutes shall be available to all committee members and Department Heads.
3. Confidential information recorded during meetings shall be kept in the Dean’s Office files and location of this information referenced in the minutes.
