2. Program implementation - Maureen has worked on the timetable for the courses that are to be implemented in September 2009. Maureen is on holidays till the New Year and she will be sending a draft timetable to the Committee when she returns. This issue will be further discussed at the next meeting on January 15th, 2009.
3. Other Business
BMSC 200.3 - there was much discussion on delivery and management of this course. The Committee came to a consensus that no more than three lecturers (one each from BIOC, ACB and PCOL) are assigned to facilitate student experience in this course, and that the same instructors from all departments teach all sections in a given term. The committee will make a formal recommendation to minimize the number of lecturers to the 3 departments in advance of their formal departmental allocation of teaching in March 2009.
PHSI/PCOL program - the Chair informed the committee that the Physiology and Pharmacology units have struck a sub-committee to develop the joint undergraduate program. The Chair noted that the units proposed Cell Signaling course could serve a number of the departmental programs.
4. Next meeting is on January 15th, 2009 at 9:30 in the DCR.
5. Meeting adjourned.
