- Dr. Ovsenek will present a proposal to the College of Medicine BPP Committee to request funding to the Division for expendables, equipment and TAs.
- The Committee estimates an enrolment of 500 students for BMSC 240.3 (5 sections will be offered; 3 in Term One and 2 in Term Two).
- For lab expenditures (total $24,000) and TAs (total 30 positions), there will be a request to transfer $5,500 and 7 TAs (7x$3,000) each from the existing budgets of Biochemistry and Microbiology & Immunology, and $1,200 plus 1 TA from Anatomy & Cell Biology to the Division. This will comprise one half of the necessary TA and expendable budget for BMSC 240.3.
- With in kind contributions from existing budgets in place, a request from the Division to the College BPP will include 1 Tenure Track Lecturer, approximately $200,000 in equipment (plus 10% upgrades per year), $12,000 expendables, and 15 TAs.
- The request to the BPP for the Division's share of BMSC/BIOL 224.3 resources will be for 12 TAs and $5,000 expendables (there is no existing provision for this laboratory in any of the existing budgets).
