Community Faculty

A summary of the teaching opportunities for family physicians available through the College of Medicine

Female DoctorCommunity Faculty are an integral part of both the undergraduate and postgraduate training programs.  Teaching undergraduate students and residents is a wonderful way to share your clinical knowledge and experience.  It can help refresh you, update your own knowledge, and give you a break from your other responsibilities.  Medical students and residents rely heavily on community based teachers to help train them as our future physicians.  Early and repeated exposure to Family Medicine will help students consider family medicine as a career, so your teaching also helps ensure that we will have enough family physicians in the future.

Opportunities

Below are links which provide an overview of various opportunities to teach/mentor pre-med students, undergraduate medical students, undergraduate inter-professional students, and residents.  Please consider teaching in one or many of these programs.  Orientation and training are available to help you feel confident about your teaching in these various settings.
