Educational programming is provided by members of the Department of Pediatrics in the following categories:
The Department of Pediatrics offers instruction to medical students in their pre-clinical years by participating in body system orientated didactic and small group sessions. Final year medical students (JURSIs) rotate through in-patient and out-patient services during a 6 week rotation.
The Department of Pediatrics offers a 4 year comprehensive general pediatric residency program. The program is accredited by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The program is geared to ensuring that residents, on completion of their training, are prepared to provide a broad array of consultative pediatric services from general pediatrics to management of the critically ill patient. The Department offers Royal College accredited subspecialty programs in Neonatology and Neurology.
Members of the Department of Pediatrics regularly participate in a variety of continuing medical education programs for physicians and nurses.
