Training and Education
Up one levelA significant part of the mandate of the Department of Psychiatry is the training of the next generation of scientists and clinicians - that is the training of residents, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and undergraduate medical students.
Residency Training
The Department of Psychiatry has a 5 year psychiatry residency training program, fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. There are 3 positions available yearly which are filled through the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS).
M.Sc./Ph.D. Neuropsychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry has a graduate program leading to an M.Sc. or to a Ph.D. in Neuropsychiatry.
Undergraduate
The Department of Psychiatry participates fully in the teaching of medical undergraduates in the University.
Applied Social Program
Students interested in graduate or post-graduate training in the areas of psychiatric epidemiology, psycho-social epidemiology and social psychiatry
Post-Doctoral Opportunities
Opportunities exist in the Department for more advanced post-graduate training for Postdoctoral Fellows and Clinical Research Fellows.
