This research group began in 2008 with the goals of: developing a research strategy to provide culturally appropriate treatments for Aboriginal Peoples in Saskatchewan; to address pertinent research priorities in Saskatchewan (e.g. Aboriginal Health, Rural and Remote Health Services); to promote knowledge translation to governments at all levels, health system personnel and local urban and rural communities; and to provide training opportunities related to Aboriginal addictions treatment and mental health research. The focus of this group is timely in that it coincides with Canada's National Anti-Drug Strategy's current focus on treatment.
This group acknowledges funding from the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, the College of Medicine, and the Office of the Vice-President Research.
