Department of Surgery

Welcome to the Department of Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan.



With our commitment to excellence in patient care, to providing an outstanding educational environment, and to innovative research, we strive to be one of the leading surgical departments worldwide.

Established in 1954, the recently Unified Department of Surgery now comprises over 100 surgeons based in Saskatoon, Regina and Prince Albert, in addition to dedicated support staff and over 40 residents in our three postgraduate training programs.
