Members of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery are based at each of the three affiliated teaching hospitals (Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon City Hospital, and St. Paul’s Hospital) within the Saskatoon Health Region. With the exception of musculoskeletal oncology, the spectrum of clinical practice and interest among the Division includes pediatric orthopedic surgery, trauma, hand and upper extremity surgery, arthroplasty, spine, and sports medicine. Over 2006-2007, the Division performed a total of 6,831 procedures. The Division supports a postgraduate residency training program, and has a wide range of research interests. The Division has been proactive in the establishment of a consolidated orthopedic trauma service at the RUH site, and in planning the consolidation of in-patient orthopedic surgical units from SPH to the SCH site (COGS project) for September 2007
