Most clinical activity for the Division of Otolaryngology is based at St. Paul’s Hopsital with the exception of selected pediatric cases and hearing test services which are based at the Royal University Hospital site. From an ambulatory office setting, members of the Division contribute significantly to undergraduate teaching, in addition to postgraduate trainees from family medicine and pediatrics. The spectrum of clinical interest and expertise includes head and neck oncology, surgery of the parotid and thyroid glands, sinus surgery, vocal rehabilitation and otology. Over 2006-2007, the Division performed a total of 3,051 procedures reflecting clinical interests and expertise relating to the spectrum of plastic surgical practice, including burns and microsurgery. Members work closely with the Saskatchewan Hearing Aid Plan and the Cochlear Implant Program. |
